Designed by: Kay Molyneux
Difficulty: Moderate
Materials:
- Grafix Matte Dura-Lar
- Grafix Vellum
- Grafix White Ink Jet Shrink Film
- Ranger Alcohol-Lift Ink Pad
- Alcohol Inks
- Alcohol Blending Solution
- Felt Applicator Tool
- Rubber Stamp
- Stamping Platform
- Catridge Paper
- 6 x 4” Card Blank
- Die Cut Frame & Sentiment
- Ink Pad
- Sponge Applicator
- Black Ink Pad
- Adhesive of Choice
Steps to Make This:
- On a felt applicator and apply a few drops of one of the inks and blending/cleaning solution and dab over the surface of the Matte Dura-Lar, repeat with another colour to obtain a random effect. Allow to dry, this only takes a minute or two.
- Position the stamp and the Dura-Lar sheet onto the stamping platform. Ink up the stamp with the Alcohol Lift Pad ensuring it is well covered, do not reapply the Alcohol Lift after this point. Stamp onto the inked Dura-Lar sheet. At this point use the cartridge paper to blot the Dura-Lar sheet. This will remove more ink from the Dura-Lar and also get an extra image.
- Remove the Dura-Lar sheet and replace it with the vellum and stamp. Then remove the vellum and replace that with the shrink film and stamp again.
- Cut the shrink film to make two shapes, I cut two hearts, and shrink to the instructions on the packaging. You now have three background images and two embellishments to use on your projects.
- (VELLUM) Lightly stamp the script stamp in black ink over the cartridge paper image. Lay the vellum over and line up the images, attach together with the tape at the sides. Place the sentiment and frame over, trim if necessary, and secure with tape, adhere this to the front of the card blank with PVA. Round the corners of the card blank. Lightly ink the edge of the embellishment with the coloured ink on the sponge applicator then attach to card front with the silicon glue.
- (DURA-LAR) Lightly stamp the script stamp in black ink over the centre of the card blank. Decide which side of the Dura-Lar you want to see and lay it over the script. Place the sentiment and frame on top and trim the Dura-Lar if necessary, then secure with tape to the front of the card. Round the corners of the card blank. Lightly ink the edge of the embellishment with the coloured ink on the sponge applicator then attach to card front with the silicon glue.
