Project Description: Use Grafix Laminating Film to create erasable and reusable recipe cards!
Designed by: Keren Baker
Difficulty: Moderate
Materials:
- Grafix Laminating Film Heavy Weight
- PaperArtsy Stamps – ESC26, I&TD Words 2
- Stencil PS309 (PaperArtsy)
- Brayer
- Tsukineko Versafine Clair ink Nocturne and Memento ink London Fog
- PaperArtsy Acrylic Paint in Mustard Pickle, Blew, Cerulean, Bougainville and Limelight
- Gold Acrylic paint
- Cream Cardstock
- White Gel Pen
Directions:
- Using some paint and a brayer, add paint to a piece of cardstock randomly using different colours.
2. Add dark blue and gold paint over the brayered cardstock using a stencil.
3. Using more cardstock cut into pieces measuring 13.5cm x 9.5cm. Add a dividing line using a pen in the centre. Stamp a matching food related image to one part of the card using grey ink. Stamp ‘recipe’ in black.
4. Add lines, write the recipe on and adhere to a slightly larger piece of stencilled cardstock. Add some details using white gel pen.
5. Cut a piece of Grafix Laminating Film larger than the piece and peel back a little of the backing. Smooth it onto the recipe card to avoid bubbles. Burnish with an embossing tool or similar.
6. Add another piece of film to the back, this time burnishing well near the edges of the recipe card and along the edges of the film.
7. Trim the edges, not trimming too closely; leave about 1cm.
Tips- to make the laminating film go further, add another recipe card onto the reverse of the one you’ve made so you have 2 recipes per card.
